When your home suffers from water damage, it must be resolved completely. Only taking care of the obvious damage can lead to other issues. Those issues can be more costly to fix in the future. This is true whether your home has suffered from storm damage, a broken pipe, or you had a fire and now you are cleaning up the water used to put out the fire. Water damage and restoration involve more than just getting rid of the water and cleaning what you can see. Dryman Construction’s restoration services are here to help. Here are the 4 stages of water restoration that we undertake.
Water Restoration Inspection
The first thing we do is inspect the damage. From there, we can make a plan to clean up and restore all damaged areas, even the places that aren’t immediately visible to the untrained eye. Dryman’s restoration services will quickly assess the damage and start the process of clean-up and restoration as soon as possible. We offer free estimates and work with your insurance company, so you don’t have to deal with the added stress of handling the insurance claim on your own.
Removing the Water and Drying
Once we assess the extent of the damage, we’ll work to remove and dry all of the water from your home. We use a number of tools to make sure there is absolutely no water or moisture left to cause mold damage or rot. It’s important to start this process right away. The longer water and moisture are left alone, the more damage they cause.
Time to Clean Up
After your home is completely dry, it’s time to start cleaning. Everything that was damaged by water needs to be cleaned and sanitized in order to prevent mold and microbial growth. You may need air scrubbers to eradicate any airborne particles or moisture still in the air. We will clean personal items individually to prevent mold growth. Furniture will also need to be dried and assessed to see if we can salvage it.
Time for Water Restoration
Depending on the amount of damage, this process can be as simple as replacing a bit of drywall, or it may involve replacing the entire wall and insulation. Based on the age of the home, this may involve dealing with lead or asbestos. If these toxic materials are in the wall, they’ll be be exposed during the restoration process. We will work with you and your insurance company every step of the way to ensure there are no surprises during this stressful time.
